Accommodations and About Our Vessel

All accommodations on this tour have been carefully hand picked and chosen based on a number of factors including a combination of luxury and service, proximity to historical sights, safety, and historical value such as the world famous Legend Old Cataract Aswan a 5 star luxury hotel in a 19th century Victorian palace on the banks of the Nile river.

We will have our own PRIVATE ship exclusive to ourselves. We will be aboard the Merit, a beautiful small and private 4 night excursion along the Nile!

Wed  April 21st – Arrival: Arrival at Cairo International Airport, where the Airport Authority &a representative will assist you with customs clearance, luggage and airport procedures through the VIP meet and assist services.

 Charlie Slater our US based tour operator and also an expert in Egypt will be at the airport to meet you! 
 
Single Entry visa to Egypt can be arranged for the clients to have on the spot at extra
current cost of US$ 28.00 each but passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date.

Thu April 22nd –  Tour of the Giza Pyramids and Sakkara area pyramids
At vast Sakkara, you will see the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first freestanding stone structure in the world. Our Egyptologist will guide us through some tombs belonging to the nobles of the past. They show the beauty and excellence of Ancient Egyptian art on their walls and give an insight in the daily life of Ancient Egypt.

 
Pyramids of Giza: Our  Egyptologist will escort us to an unforgettable tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza; the only present- day survivors of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They are among 3 the world’s greatest tourist attractions and never lose their ability to inspire and overwhelm visitors.

Fri April 23rd – The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), also known as the Giza Museum, will be a museum of artifacts of ancient Egypt. Described as the largest archaeological museum in the world, the museum is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2020, exhibiting the full Tutankhamun collection with many pieces to be displayed for the first time. The museum is sited on 50 hectares (120 acres) of land approximately two kilometers from the Giza pyramids and is part of a new master plan for the plateau.
 
Tour of the Cairo CitadelThe Saladin Citadel of Cairo is a medieval Islamic fortification in Cairo, Egypt. The location, on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo, was once famous for its fresh breeze and grand views of the city. It is now a preserved historic site, with mosques and museums.


 
Sound and Light Show at Giza Pyramids
Enjoy an unforgettable evening as the Pyramids and Spinx of the ancient world, meet sound and lights of the modern! 

Sat April 24th- Flight to Luxor 
This morning we leave Cairo and embark on the next leg of our epic journey. We will take an early morning flight to Luxor. At the airport, we will be greeted by our guide. 

Tour of Karnak Temple and Luxor
Upon the arrival to Luxor, we will be guided to the Temple of Karnak built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs. The great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars, covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Dahabiya Nile Cruise, Merit One – Embark from Luxor
We spend the next four nights on a journey down the Nile!  Thsi is not just any journey. We will have our own PRIVATE ship exclusive to ourselves.

We will have ample time in between our shore excursion to sit and edit images, and just enjoy and take in the beautiful Nile! 




April 25th – 27th 

  • Tour of Valley of The Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Memnon Statues
  • Tour of Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple.
  • Tour of Philae Temple and High Dam of Aswan

The next 3 days will be filled with stops along our Nile Journey with planned stops at the highlights listed above!  These are some of the moist iconic locations to visit! At the end of each day, our ship awaits and we retreat back for beautiful meals and time relaxing. 

April 28th – 29th  Aswan
As we say goodbye to our ship, we look forward to a bit of time to relax and enjoy our next hotel. The historic Legend Old Cataract Aswan is a 5-star luxury hotel in a 19th-century Victorian palace on the banks of the river Nile. Here we will enjoy two nights where you can choose to rest and relax, work on images, photograph the Nile from vantage points right at the hotel, or visit more sites if you so choose. 

We will plan on time to edit and enjoy! 



April 30th – Aswan to Cairo
As we fly back to Cairo, you will have time to get any last minute shopping for souvenirs done during our last night.

May 1st – Depart Cairo 
All good things must come to an end….or DO THEY? For some, you may want to join us on the extension tour to Jordan to visit sites such as Petra!  More details to come!
