*Itinerary in Detail

April 9th –
Arrive at Amman Airport, where we will meet you, assist with immigration and then transfer you to your hotel in Amman. Amman is one of the oldest cities in the world, inhabited since the bronze age. The city is growing into a modern city but retains its character and history.

Later on this day, you will go for a tour at the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre, two of the most
popular archaeological sites in the city. Walk through some of the back streets, fruit markets, shops and a stop for lunch at a local restaurant to experience authentic Falafel & Hummus and the Arab delicacy, Kenafah, eaten at times of celebration.
Overnight in Amman.

Drive from Amman Airport to Amman takes around 30Min – 1 Hour
depending on traffic.

Spend time at the Temple of Hercules, a Byzantine church, and the Umayyad Palace and the Roman Theatre, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city. Your guide will take you through some of the back streets, markets and shops of the old city to practice some street photography techniques around the city center.

April 10th  –
Depart from your hotel in Amman and drive South explore a Master piece half as old as time; The Red Rose city of Petra. Marvel at the beauty of the Lost City, exploring its many caves and tombs. Walk through the Siq and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World.

Time to then explore the city further, such as Qasr Al-Bint or the Royal Tombs.

Drive from Amman onto Petra takes around 3 Hours. Optional hike to Petra entrance via the Monastery. Optional visit to
the Cave Bar, which sits high on “Charlie’s Top Ten Bars in the World”.

Overnight in Petra.

April 11th  –
More time to visit other trails and sites inside Petra. If you feel courageous, want to avoid the crowds and discover some less visited monuments in Petra you can visit sites such as the Khubtha Mountain, Al Madras or the High Place of sacrifice.

You will enter the Siq, exploring the ancient rock carved ruins of Facades Street before following a steep climb up ancient Nabataean steps to near the summit of Al Khubtha to enjoy the magnificent panorama overlooking the Treasury, then descending to Petra main entrance.

Alternatively, you can continue on and hike up to the High Place of Sacrifice, enjoy spectacular views over the rocky, desert terrain, where breathtaking panoramic views await. Or you can hike the Madras trail, this special route into Petra climbs along the southern cliff of the Siq and involves several scrambles over steep sandstone escarpments. At one point in this trek, you will arrive at a vantage point on the Cliffside facing the Khazneh (Treasury) from high above, and be able to watch visitors walk out of the Siq below you.

The journey continues along the rugged mountains to the High Place of Sacrifice, where the Nabatean altars, an obelisk and foundations of the priests’ house are still visible, as well as a splendid panoramic view of the Petra city center below. Descend through Wadi Farasa, passing the Lion Fountain and the Roman Soldier's Tomb. Visit the recently excavated Nabatean Villa and the Great Temple as you return to the center of the ancient site. Whichever route is taken, you will be well satisfied with your two-day exploration of one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
