This immersive safari with McKay Photography Academy speaks to the animal lover’s soul: an exciting adventure that takes you straight into the heart of Tanzania’s best wildlife viewing areas while staying at the all new Dancing Duma Luxury Safari Camp!

Venture into the plains every morning for full days of spectacular wildlife viewing, and unwind in luxurious, eco-friendly camps located in the middle of the wild. Each night, settle into comfortable, downy bedding and drift asleep to the nighttime sounds of safari.

Join the McKay Photography Academy Team along with our expert Tanzanian guides (personal friends and chosen by us) for a very exciting, very special, adventure that will be more than you can ever imagine!

Guests with all levels of photographic experience, beginner through advanced are welcome!

The Wildlife

Tanzania Africa, without a doubt, is one of the premier wildlife safari destinations in the world. This tour is set during the prime Migration period of the Maasai Mara river crossing where thousands of Wildebeest and Zebra risk everything to cross the crocodile-infested waters of the Maasai Mara between Kenya and Tanzania!

Lions, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Leopard, Hippo, Cape Buffalo, Rhino and MUCH MORE are ALL possibilities to not only see and photograph, but to watch in action.

As we are based in the heart of the prime of the Serengeti, we have access to locate the best wildlife the world has to offer. You WILL see wildlife and you WILL be blown away at it all. Words are not adequate to be able to describe what you will feel as you watch and photograph in this incredible place.

Working with our personally selected group of guides we have worked with in the past, we will have the best of the best when it comes to scouts and knowledge on hand to get us to where the action is. We will leave early morning and come back to camp late. This is NOT a run of the mill tour. This is a truly premier experience dedicated to getting you to the wildlife, and in the best positions possible to photograph it.

The Culture

This tour will be extra special. We have the ability to do some really awesome cultural exchanges as well. One of the most amazing experiences we have ever had was the ability to meet with members of various tribes.

Accommodations and Food

It is hard to believe that you will go to Africa and actually gain weight!  BUT YOU WILL!  Why? We have amazing personal chefs at our camp creating 5-star dining experiences all while we are in the middle of the Serengeti!  If you have any dietary restrictions, it is no problem at all as long as we know in advance. You will find that not only will you love the atmosphere of eating together in our dining tent while overlooking the Serengeti,  you will also find the food exceptional!

Also available is the “Rafiki lounge/bar tent”.  After a full day out wildlife viewing, you will come to love the tent with a bar set up and beautiful sofas, and chairs to sit and gaze out at the Serengeti from a private deck.

After dinner, sit by a fire and watch the sun sink below the horizon, as we all talk of the days adventures!

Dancing Duma Camp

Dancing Duma was born out of a dream. A dream for longtime safari guide Leonard Temba and his wife Pendo Tarimo to have a better future with a camp they could call their own. This was a shared dream by David and Ally McKay and partner Saen Higgins to come alongside their dear friends and help make the dream a reality.

Together, they envisioned a place where guests could experience the magic of the Tanzanian wilderness in a sustainable and authentic way. Today, Dancing Duma stands as a testament to their shared passion for conservation and community empowerment, providing unforgettable experiences for all who visit.

Becoming a part of this unique experience offers more than just an amazing safari adventure; it’s an opportunity to make a genuine impact on the world. By participating, you are not only creating unforgettable memories but also contributing to the well-being of local communities and wildlife.

In addition to this, the camp’s management team actively seeks out partnerships with Tanzanian businesses and artisans. As an example, each piece of furniture has been hand crafted by local craftsmen.

This strategic collaboration not only secures quality products and services for the camp but also contributes to economic growth and the empowerment of local communities. By prioritizing these relationships, the camp further solidifies its commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism. Consequently, guests can enjoy their stay knowing they are supporting both the environment and the livelihood of Tanzanians.

Embrace this journey with us, for it is truly bigger than all of us combined, and together, we can make a difference that will be remembered for generations.

THANK YOU!

Your friends at Dancing Duma

Dancing Duma Camp Accommodations

The Dancing Duma camp is equipped with six luxury guest tents that can be configured for a couple or two guests in separate beds. A unique feature to the camp in addition to the other guest tents, is a large “family” style tent that has two separate bedrooms and two separate bathrooms on each side separated with a lounge area in the middle. The perfect solution for a family or even a group traveling together.

Each tent in the Dancing Duma camp is equipped with running hot and cold water, a shower, flush toilets, electric lights, outlets, and netted windows with 360-degree views of the natural world outside, that can be closed for privacy. Of course, each tent also has comfortable beds ready for you to rest and revive for the next day.

Each tent includes a desk and chair as well as a lounge area to sit and relax, read, or just hang out. In addition to these amenities, guests can enjoy an outdoor teak wood deck where they can unwind, breathe in the fresh air, and appreciate the stunning surroundings.
