A way to Safari that truly is epic and a very different approach for photographers!
McKay Photography Academy is planning on our 2025 return wildlife photography safari to Tanzania and would love to share this amazing place and the incredible Serengeti with you!
We know it will be a life changing experience you will never forget! Before we get into the details of the photographic safari, please read about the beautiful new safari camp we have built and the work that is being done!

- Dates: May 24th – June 1st, 2025
- Price: $10,200
- Based on shared accommodations. A single supplement is available for $1300.
- $2000 deposit and a payment plan on balance offered interest-free over several months.

Ally and I are writing to you with immense thanks as we relax in the Rafiki lounge at the brand new Dancing Duma Premium Safari Camp we have built with our partners and of course with so much support from so many of our clients!
We’re truly elated after wrapping up three more Serengeti photographic tours and stays at our lovely Dancing Duma camp. There’s a lot to share, and we hope you’ll take a moment to read on!

Launching a venture of this scale anywhere requires significant investment, perseverance, and effort. The unpredictable challenges, like waiting on a delayed part to finish a simple job, or the complex logistics of transporting supplies into the Serengeti, were daunting tasks that are hard to articulate.
Now, here we are, marveling at what we’ve built together with Dancing Duma.
We invite you to spend a few moments learning about the exciting developments made possible by the dream, the hard work, and, most importantly, support from those that have gone on a photographic safari with us!
Why Safari This Way!
In Tanzania, we have now done close to 25 photographic safaris over the last 10 years! We have seen that most safaris, and safari companies, are not really built on quality, but quantity. How many locations can you get to so that you feel you have seen a variety of places. We have learned this is not the way to safari and without a doubt, for photographers there is a MUCH better way! We have decided to change the way we safari and it has been awesome!
Rather than go on safari and go to 4-5 locations every 2 days spending so much time just traveling from one place to the next, being exhausted and constantly packing, we have placed the effort into staying in one location, maximizing the abundant opportunities in the Serengeti, and having a beautiful home base!
The Serengeti is home to the most abundant wildlife in the world and with over 6 million square miles, those that only spend one to two days there never get to really encounter what is there! It is far better to spend your time actually on safari than driving from one location to the next, packing and unpacking, and wasting precious valuable time when you could be spending it photographing amazing wildlife at awesome times of day!
Our McKay Photo Safaris spend 7 nights in the Serengeti at Dancing Duma camp and then we offer an add on 2-3 day extension to locations such as Ngorongoro crater. We have found this the very best way to do a photographic safari and our clients that have been with us recently 100% feel the same way! Many have been on safari with us 2-3 times and feel there is no better way to safari , and see the best wildlife in the world!

Dancing Duma Team
We’re putting a lot of effort into transforming the way camps operate. Our goal is to build a close-knit team, like a family, where everyone’s excited to be part of it. This way, our team members can take care of themselves and their loved ones and be proud of their accomplishments and where they work.
Right now, our camp family consists of 12 dedicated full-time members. Check out their photo above sporting the camp’s new soccer jerseys. Feeling like part of a family matters to us – it’s what we aim for with our hardworking team. We also recognize this will be a new standard and as other camps see this, the pressure will be there for them to make changes. Our goal is that this is life transforming not only for our team, but for others as well.

- Better pay- The pay is 2-3x the standard rate
- Scholarship Fund- A new scholarship fund is being started to send staff children for private education. This us huge!

Dancing Duma Camp Dining and Lounge
Dining
The dining and lounge tents are beautifully built and the center of Dancing Duma camp. Each space has views overlooking the Serengeti and outdoor seating available on the decks.
Our Chef and the Dancing Duma Team are excited to prepare fresh meals daily with fresh ingredients. If you have any allergies, vegetarian or dietary needs, please be sure to let the Camp Manager or Head Waiter know and they will make sure you are taken care of. Each meal is crafted and prepared for an extraordinary dining experience while on safari!
The Rafiki Lounge/Bar Tent
Rafiki is the Swahili word for friend. That is exactly who you are at Dancing Duma. The lounge tent is a place where you can feel free to hang out, relax, and order one of our specialty cocktails or your favorite drink. A variety of liquor, wines, and beer as well as various sodas are available. Dancing Duma also carries a selection of high-end spirits such as rare Gins, Bourbons, and Whisky
Be sure to take advantage of the Hippobottomless Special! This includes 2 days of unlimited well drinks, beer and house wine, as well as sodas and specialty coffee drinks!
Drinking Water
Drinking water is provided to our guest while in camp at no charge. Drinking water that is served including ice is filtered and safe to drink.
Camp Fire
After a full day on safari, and an amazing meal, sit by the fire and share the memories of the day with good friends!
